Vincento Rennelli has been fired by Laziali on Thursday, the club announced on its official Twitter account.
Rennella joined the Rossoneri in the summer and had been expected to take over from Luciano Spalletti as the club’s head coach for the upcoming Serie A season.
He was promoted to the club as head of technical and youth development.
In an interview with the Giuseppe Reale website, Rennelli said he was relieved to have left the club and that he was looking forward to returning to Milan.
“I’m grateful to the fans, to all the staff, and to Coach Spallett for everything he’s done for me,” he said.
“There’s been so much disappointment, but I’ve been told by my family that I have to be happy, that I’ve done the right thing.”
It’s hard for me, I’ve had so much to do, but at the end of the day I’m proud of the work I’ve put in.
“We have the players to compete and it will be difficult to stop the run, but it’s a positive and it’s important for me to stay in this position.”
In the past, RENNELI had been linked with the position with his appointment as Lazialis first-team coach in the winter of 2012, although the former Juventus coach later left for Chelsea.
