Next Big Futures – December 15, 2018 – A new fence is being constructed on the site of a proposed LRT line that would link the Eastside and Westside neighbourhoods of North York.
The project to build a three-metre-high barrier on the former Metro Toronto streetcar tracks in the area of North Dundas and Dundas Street West has been stalled for years.
Construction is expected to start in the coming weeks and the fence will stretch across the land at least three metres in length.
It will be the second fence that is being erected on the route.
Last year, the City of Toronto and Metrolinx completed a $1.5-billion construction project on the L-RT line in the Eastwood neighbourhood, near College and Lawrence Streets.
The city has also announced it will add another two kilometres of fencing to the area.
